I could never see myself spending that much on a monitor...

And I thought this was high...

Yeah 1440P is new so you pay a premium for now. I don't have a home theater so my PC is for all my movies and gaming ect. Also I keep my monitors for a LOooooong time and its the only component I can keep moving from build to build. AND I heard they may be moving games to 60hz locked. This may be as good as it gets for quite a while. Plus I think 27" is the max I'll go for PC. Bit much to chew I'll admit but I'm gonna love it. Gonna have to get a new Graphics card to power this beauty.

They would be stupid to lock games to 60hz, and if they do, I don't think that every developer would do it.  That's what's great about PC gaming is the ability to have a higher refresh rate/fps

Sorry I was wrong they are trying to get it locked at 30hz to free up resources for other things... From one of the websites I was reading.

http://www.kitguru.net/components/graph … -at-30fps/

Annnnnd canceled... Didn't really pay attention that it only has 1 input and it is displayport only. I'd be stuck to using it as PC only. Picked up the Benq XL2720Z instead.

Re: Asus ROG PG278Q order placed...

I thought that's all you were gonna use it for, since TV's are gonna skip 1440p altogether and go straight to 4k

My parents actually just got one of those Samsung 4k curved TV's and watching 4k content from Netflix is actually a noticeable improvement over 1080p. Sadly, cable providers are still a ways away from having any 4k content
