What I Run

There was some talk on Vent last night about parts, cooling, etc.  Anyway, here is what I run.  I don't usually see any performance issues and run at 1680x1050.

ASUS M3N72-D mobo
AMD Phenom II 940 3.0 GHz (quad core)
4GB DDR2 1066 RAM
MSI GeForce GTX 275 w/ 896 MB RAM
2x 2GB Seagate 5900 RPM HDD
Rosewill case with a bunch of fans - no water cooling except what came with the video card

Most of this was built/bought mid-2009 (hard drives were a recent addition for the storage).  This is the family PC in addition to my gaming rig, which is why I went with the mass storage instead of a smaller SSD.  The more I work on networks, the less I know about PC hardware, so any comments are appreciated.

Re: What I Run

It looks pretty good.  I'm sure if you went with a haf for your case, that your temps would drop down a bit.  Have you looked into overclocking your processor?

I wouldn't expect to see any performance issues with that setup.  A few of us run with a single GTX 260 and have no problems.

Have you tried maxing everything out?  Oddly enough, I've got a single 260 with everything maxed (aa, af, quality, etc) and it runs pretty smooth.  You've got a slightly better card and are running at a lower resolution, so I would expect better fps, as long as ur cpu's not bottlenecking it for you wink

Re: What I Run

I'll check my settings when I am back home (on the road for work a couple of days).

I only have lag problems when uh...  killsaw, chaos, cool and sleeping dog are near me... yeah, that's it... I have lag problems.

Seriously... I don't have any performance problems, was just thinking about ways to tweak my setup.

Re: What I Run

So I finally got off my lazy butt to look at my config...

1680x1050
Windowed mode most of the time (so that I can keep an eye on Vent until I learn voices)
AA: 4x
Aspect: Auto
Refresh: 60Hz
Sync every frame: no
Texture filtering: Auto
Anisotropic filtering: minimum (bar is all the way to left)
Texture quality: auto
Shader: no
Shadows: Yes
Bullet Impact: yes
Field of view: minimum (bar is all the way to left)

Not sure how to get the FPS and other values during the game....

Re: What I Run

open console ingame with ` key and type  /cg_drawfps 1 to show fps and 0 to turn it off.
FOV slider you should turn almost all way up atleast 75% and turn af slider up as you have good video card and it should remove stress from cpu.
Couple other treads with config tweaks in them which you should make sure you have done most of too.
What you have posted here isn't config but ingame graphics settings, there is config in steam folder for this game.

I am mentally challenging you.....so consider yourself mentally challenged.
